Tyke

Riding the momentum of the previous week's victory, the Kanata Knights Tykes prepared to host a Lion hunt as the Bel-Air Copeland squad took the short trek down Hazeldean Road to the KRC field on Thanksgiving Monday.  From the opening kickoff it appeared that the Kanata squad had overindulged at the turkey table the previous night and a lackluster first half put the team down 20-0.  Kanata took to the field in the second half determined to deliver a much better effort.  'Not one more point!' declared the defence.  This time, it was the Brothers Beccerril - Cesar and Marco - who lead the D snaring a combined 13 Lions as the entire defence stepped up and stymied the Bel-Air offence in the second half.  In perhaps the most balanced effort by the defence this season, 13 players contributed at least 2 tackles apiece.  Frantically trying to put some points of their own on the board, the offence started to move the ball, with Spencer Tanti opening holes in the line and Knights gaining rushing yards from Dylan Lachance, Patrick Massia. and Jack Power.  Late in the game, the Knights re-engaged a very successful air attack, racking up 70 yards and setting up quarterback Carter Poulin's rushing TD to narrow the final score to 20-6.
